Interview with Channel 11 WPIX News New York on the Home Buyer Tax Credit

I just finished an interview with anchor Jim Watkins of WPIX Channel 11 in New York City about the Home Buyer Tax Credit, working hard to distill about a 15,000 word 25 page special report (which you can get here) into 90 seconds. I thought we got a lot in, and maybe some people learned something in the limited time we had.  Very nice man, that Jim Watkins, and disconcertingly tall.

But I was a little worried when the graphic they used throughout the interview spelled the name of the site wrong. Luckily, the excellent producer Tracey Eyers was able to fix it for the online clip.  My thanks to her.

Be careful about misinformation about the Home Buyer Tax Credit

As part of putting together the HomeBuyerTaxCredit.com resource site, particularly the Eligibility Test, we consulted with a lot of people in the industry and read virtually everything that was available on the web or in other publications to make sure we had the right information to present to you.  We believe that the information on our site is more accurate, comprehensive, and understandable than anything else on the web.

So as self-serving as it seems, we want to warn you about information you might get on other sites.  Just this past week, we pointed out in our local real estate blog how the New York Times ran an article about the tax credit that got the income restrictions wrong and misstated how the IRS will treat unmarried people buying a home together.
